Matt Schrampfer, "Martin Donnigan"

Matt was born in 2003 and is currently 18 years of age. The second child and only son of bandmate, Thom Schrampfer, it was during the winter of 2016 when Matt was first introduced to the bass guitar. Traditionally a finger bassist, Matt will use a pick in an unamplified situation to increase the volume and articulation of the acoustic bass.

Matt's first gigging experience came in 2017 at the annual "Ren in the Glen" festival in Glenwood City, Wisconsin, which was his first introduction to playing in a "Renaissance Fair" scenario. Matt and his father, Thom have continued to play at "Ren in the Glen" every single year since, with other family members stepping in ocassionally.

It was in the dog days of the 2019 summer that Matt got his first full-time experience as a member of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival cast. After his Father, Thom's previous group: "The Broken Brogues" disbanded due to circumstances beyond their control, Matt was brought in as the replacement for departing member, Mark Baird, and thus the reincarnation "The Hounds of Dublin" was born. It was during this time where Matt first started expirimenting with variations of the mandolin, such as the Mandola and the Bouzouki, which would add an unexpected flare to their sound. It was during this year that "The Hounds of Dublin" would be nominated for best musical act of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

Matt is first and foremost a metal musician. Ever since 2020, Matt has played bass for Twin Cities Death Metal band "Begravement", and continues to gig around the Twin Cities and neighboring states with "Begravement" to this day.
